That first tiktok screenshot particularly resonated with me -- I’ve felt and thought the same way she is describing, but alongside the gnawing consciousness that I’m also an overly online zoomer and have been formed by the internet media I consume. Loops and cycles of, “I think I’m self-aware, but would a truly self-aware person *really* think so?” and “I’m #notlikeothergirls, but clearly I am much like other girls” just leaves me feeling convinced that I’m autistic.
In all seriousness, I wish zoomers would put down their phones and experience life without restlessly trying to bottle and distill “the vibe” into an instagram post. Electromagnetic Pulse 2024

Aspirational Art is becoming the dominant trend lately. Is this something good or bad? I'm just a millennial but I always had the old craving of turn off my desires and see the world how it really is.
as a current highschool senior, it’s been really amusing to watch the gambling meme spread throughout my generation. the half ironic gambling tiktoks really are only half ironic. It’s not uncommon to see people with Stake open on their laptops during classes. at lunch the boys in my year run a rather formal casino with chips and a ledger to track who owes who. probably a fad but interesting nonetheless
"Picking physical locations as stages for identity performance" really took me back to my high school experience. A lot felt staged then to me, to attract something or someone.
